| Bali, Indonesia has a variety of festivities for special occasion however the spiritual celebrations are the ones specified with much significance. Gamelan gong kebyar group Tri Bhuwana Giri gives a demonstration for their masterclass students in the Tropenmuseum Amsterdam during IGFA (International Gamelan Festival). It is one of the most respected gamelangroups from North-Bali under leadership of I Gede Yudi Gautama and consists of the best gamelan musicians and dancers from three neighbouring villages: Banyuatis, Munduk and Gesing. The group was founded in 1994 to preserve music- and dance styles of North-Bali. It won the 2006 kebyar competition of Buleleng and will participate this year in the Bali Arts Festival in Denpasar.Balinese festivities as well as ceremonies are normally done during the latter part of the afternoon or at night because the air is cooler at that moment. |
